ITV French Open
ITV are planning to broadcast the French Open.
ITV are planning to show the French Open across two of its channels and online.
It is a coup for the broadcaster, who won the bid back in October, securing a three-year deal with the French Federation.
It is the first ever Tennis Grand Slam event to be broadcast on ITV1, with men's singles and ladies finals live on ITV1.
Each day's play will be covered, over the 15 days, which is to be held at Roland Garros in Paris. ITV4 and ITV.com will broadcast around 6 hours of live coverage of each day at the tournament, as well as a highlights package. The sexy looking tennis racket being used by Nadal, Tsonga and others during the tourament will be the Babolat AeroPro Drive French Open racket. You can purchase it from here.
ITV has won the rights for the touranment after the BBC dropped out of the bidding.
ITV has been enchancing its sports content, including a deal to to get rights to broadcast UEFA Europa League coverage from Channel 5, which is designed to strengthen Digital Channel ITV4's Sports portfolio.
The French open will start on the 27th May going through to the 10th June.
